The Witchcraft Week was born with the aim of paying homage to Johanes de Bargota, the most illustrious character of the town, said to be a cleric who was born and lived in Bargota in the 16th century and to whom magical powers were attributed. In even years, a medieval legend of the Camino de Santiago comes to life, where the town transforms itself to perform an impressive theatrical representation filled with banners, carriages, and medieval costumes.
