The image of the Virgin Santa María de Alarcos is transferred from the Church of San Pedro to the hermitage, with flower offerings and the participation of choirs and dances. It includes a folk festival, medieval tournament, Limoná contest, procession, and religious events.

Days 1 to 4 of June

FRIDAY June 2

  • 10:00 p.m. Concert by PABLO LOPEZ. La Granja Municipal Auditorium

  • 20:30 to 24:00. IX edition of THE WHITE NIGHT CERVANTIVA. Special offers in all shops in the city. Multitude of sports, cultural and musical activities both in museums and in different streets and squares of the city.
    Toy library for the little ones in the Old Casino. A magical night that you cannot miss!

Days 1, 2 and 3 of June

IN THE PARISH OF SAN PEDRO APOSTOL

  • 8:00 p.m. Rosary beads.
  • 8:30 p.m. Solemn Triduum and Mass offered to Santa María de Alarcos by her Illustrious Brotherhood.

On day 1 at the end of the religious function there will be a hand kiss to the Virgin of Alarcos.
On the 3rd, at the end of the triduum, the Choir of the Seminary of Ciudad Real will sing.

SATURDAY June 3

  • 11:30 a.m. Guided tour of Ciudad Real, leaving from the door of the Municipal Tourist Office. Price: €8.00 per person (free for children under 8 years of age).

  • 6:00 p.m. Reception and presentation at the "López Villaseñor" Museum of the groups participating in the XXIV Virgen de Alarcos National Folk Festival.
  • 7:30 p.m. Parade from the “López Villaseñor” Museum to the Parish of San Pedro, with Offering to the Virgin of Alarcos by the folk groups participating in the XXIV Virgen de Alarcos National Folk Festival.
  • 9:00 p.m. NIGHTGLOW, on the esplanade of Mar Caribe street (behind the Go Fit gym).
    Light and sound show in which some of the balloons participating in the Spanish Hot Air Balloon Championship play with their lights to the rhythm of the music. Highly recommended for adults and children.
  • 9:30 p.m. In the Plaza Mayor, XXIV Virgen de Alarcos National Folk Festival, with the participation of the groups:

Group of Dances Manchegas Magisterio - ALBACETE.
Virgen de las Cruces Folkloric Association – DAIMIEL.
Agla de Montijo Cultural Association – BADAJOZ.
Choirs and Dances Ntra. Mrs. Del Prado – CIUDAD REAL.

SUNDAY June 4

  • 09:00 a.m. Religious Function in the Parish of San Pedro Apóstol.
  • 09:45 a.m. Transfer in Romería de la Virgen Ntra. Sra. De Alarcos, from the Parish of San Pedro Apóstol to the Hermitage. The Image will be carried by the Brotherhood of the Flagellation from the exit of the church to the Plaza Jesús de la Goodness.
    Plaza Jesús de la Goodness (Sto. Tomás de Vva Church): Reata de Tomelloso mules.
    Tasting of Migas made by the residents of La Poblachuela in Carril de las Casillas.
    Spectacular ascent of the Virgin on the shoulders by the young people of Valverde from the Finca "Las Barracas" to the Hermitage.
  • 1:00 p.m. Offering of flowers to the Virgin and dances in her honor, by the Choirs and Dances María José Melero and Choirs and Dances Ntra. Sra. Del Prado and the groups participating in the XXIV Virgen de Alarcos National Folk Festival.

MONDAY June 5

  • 08:00 a.m. Dawn Rosary. Subsequently, Mistela and Tea Pastries will be offered by the Federation of Peñas de Ciudad Real.
  • 11:00 a.m. Religious function in honor of the Virgin of Santa María de Alarcos with the participation of the Choir of the Virgen de la Cabeza Brotherhood and procession around the Hermitage.
