In addition to the pilgrimages, with procession and Eucharist, visitors will be able to enjoy typical Extremaduran music and gastronomy. The sale of aniseed doughnuts, typical of these festivities, will not be missing.

1st and 2nd February 2023

Las Candelas Pilgrimage

Wednesday 1st February 

  • 10.00h. Sale of traditional aniseed doughnuts in the parish of Las Candelas.
  • 12.00h. Neighbours from the neighbourhood will share some typical products from Extremadura.
  • 17.00h. Traditional Eucharist in the hermitage of Las Candelas. At the end of the Eucharist there will be a Table of Offerings.

Thursday 2nd February

  • 10.00h. Sale of the traditional aniseed doughnuts in the parish of Las Candelas. 
  • 17.00h. Blessing of the candles in the Hermitage of Las Candelas.
  • Afterwards, the procession of the Virgen de Las Candelas to the Parish Church of San Mateo will take place.
  • Celebration of the Eucharist in the Parish Church of San Mateo.
  • Return in procession of the Virgen de Las Candelas to the hermitage of Las Candelas.

3rd and 4th February 2023

Pilgrimage of San Blas

Friday 3rd February

  • 09.30h. Sale of San Blas doughnuts and laces by the parish (while stocks last).
  • 17.00h. Eucharist and procession of San Blas. Traditional Eucharist in honour of San Blas and procession around the San Blas Chapel (Organised by the Parish).

Saturday 4th February

  • 09.00h. Sale of donuts and laces of San Blas by the parish (while stocks last).
  • 12.00h. Musical performance by the Trebol Group.
  • 12.00h. to 16h. Diocesan School children's play centre.
  • 12.30h. Tasting of "Prueba Extremeña" organised by the San Blas Neighbourhood Association (while stocks last).
  • 13.00h. Parade for children and adults, dressed in traditional costume. Departure from Plaza de Canterias and arrival at the hermitage of San Blas.
  • 13.45h. Adult regional costume competition organised by the San Blas Neighbourhood Association.
  • 15.30h. Popular workshop to practice the jota cacereña 'El Redoble'.
  • 16.00h. Performance of 'El Redoble' by the Guares Town Council.
  • 17.30h. Performance of Cerendeo by the Town Council of Cáceres.

El "Nano" will entertain the streets during the pilgrimage.
