Program of Passion of Montiel

More information:

"The Passion of Montiel" will be performed for the second consecutive year in the Atrium of the Church of San Sebastián in this town of Ciudad Real on March 30, Holy Saturday, at dusk.

Scenes from the Passion of Christ performed by young people from Montiel. During the performance there are three narrators, among them Jose Mota, a well-known actor and comedian, born in our town.

The scenes of "The Passion of Montiel" are the following:

It begins with the Last Supper, Jesus continues praying in the Garden of Olives, the soldiers arrest him and take him to Caiaphas. Pontius Pilate is then taken away. Prior to this, there are the three denials of Peter and finally to Pilate. He asks the people and washes his hands, and at this point Barabbas also comes out, whom the people ask to be released. Subsequently, Jesus is punished and the three falls begin: in the first, a Hebrew helps him carry the cross, in the second fall Veronica cleans his face and in the third fall he meets his mother, the Virgin Mary. From there they take Jesus to crucify him and put him on the cross. They then take him down and take him to another place. And it ends with the Resurrection.
