Year 2022

It celebrates: From 13th September to 18th September
Place: Cózar (Ciudad Real)

Patron saint festivities that bring together several ancestral traditions that you have to discover, such as El Toro de Fuego (The Bull of Fire), foot-tackle carts, and Las Tacillas, a unique game of chance that has been passed down from generation to generation since the 14th century.

COZAR FESTIVAL 2022

Grape Harvest Festival

It will take place in the Plaza del Cristo, Saturday 10th September.

From 21:30 hours (after the first triduum)
There will be the treading of the grapes, followed by "jotas" by: Folkloric Association "La Púa" from Cózar.

Tuesday 13th September

  • 22:00 h. Official opening of the 2022 fair by Luis Rico Armero, Mayor and President of the Town of Cózar.
    Then... Chupinazo.
  • Proclamation of the fiestas by Bernardino Jiménez Muñoz.
  • Floral Offering accompanied by a charanga (brass band).
  • Bidding of the Platforms of the Santísimo Cristo de la Vera-Cruz.
  • Burning of fireworks in the Plaza del Cristo.
  • Puja de las Tacillas accompanied by a brass band.
  • Opening of the Tacillas and the Fairgrounds
  • In the Pista Municipal, the night will be enlivened by the orchestra "La Fraguel".

Wednesday 14th September

  • 12:00 h. Holy Mass in the Parish Church. Afterwards, procession of the image of the Santísimo Cristo de la Vera-Cruz accompanied by the musical group "La Soledad y Santo Sepulcro".
  • 22:00 h. Burning of the Family Fire Bull in the Plaza del Cristo (Toro sin Carretillas Buscapiés).
  • 22:15 h. Burning of the Toro de Fuego and the Buscapiés Wheelbarrows in the Pza. del Cristo.
  • 24:00 h. Verbena in the Pista Municipal enlivened by the "Hawaii" Orchestra.

Thursday 15th September

  • 12:00 h. Holy Mass in the Parish Church. Afterwards, procession of the image of the Santísimo Cristo de la Vera-Cruz accompanied by the musical group "Santa Cecilia".
  • 22:15 h. Burning of the Toro de Fuego and Carretillas Buscapiés in the Pza. del Cristo.
  • 24:00 h. Verbena in the Pista Municipal with the "Titanio" Orchestra.

Friday 16th September

  • 13:30 h. Aperitif for everyone (Gachas) in the Plaza del Cristo.
  • 14:00 to 18:00 h. Aperitif enlivened by the Charanga.
  • 16:30 h. VI Compressed Air Carbine Tournament in the Municipal Pavilion. See posters.
  • 22:00 h. Burning of the Family Fire Bull in the Plaza del Cristo (Toro sin Carretillas Buscapiés).
  • 22:15 h. Burning of the Toro de Fuego and the Carretillas Buscapiés in the Plaza del Cristo.
  • 24:00 h. Verbena in the Pista Municipal with the "Etiqueta" Orchestra.

Saturday 17th September

  • 11:00 h. Reja and Tángana Competition in San Antón Park.
  • 14:00 to 18:00 h. Aperitif enlivened by the Charanga.
  • 17:00 h. Wild West Grand Prix in the Plaza, which will be themed and the participants will be dressed up. 6 clubs with 6 to 8 participants, with prior registration at the Mayor's Office on the previous days.
  • 22:00 h. Burning of the Family Fire Bull in the Plaza del Cristo (Toro sin Carretillas Buscapiés).
  • 22:15 h. Burning of the Toro de Fuego and the Carretillas Buscapiés.
  • 24:00 h. Verbena in the Pista Municipal enlivened by the "Tronos" Orchestra.

Sunday 18th September

  • 12:00 h. Children's Day: Children's attractions in the Plaza del Cristo.
  • 17:00 h. Children's Day: Children's Games (Ribbons, Painting, etc.) in the Plaza del Cristo.
  • 22:00 h. Copla Night in the Pista Municipal by the artist María Rubí.
