Sayalonga, a town in the Axarquia region, celebrates, every first Sunday in May, the Día del Níspero (Loquat Day), with which it celebrates the abundance of agricultural production in this area.

The Fiesta, which has been declared of National Tourist Interest in Andalusia, begins with the opening speech and continues with a programme full of activities: theatres, exhibitions and an attractive street market offering the area's prized handicrafts. The Nísperos de Oro awards are also presented to outstanding local, regional and Andalusian personalities and organisations.

During the day you can also enjoy a variety of musical performances and taste the typical products of the municipality, such as its famous medlar liqueurs and jams, among others.
