The Carnival of Torrevieja fills the streets with rhythm, color and passion in a magical atmosphere typical of the biggest carnivals in Spain. We tell you all the curiosities of a festival declared of Tourist Interest Autonomic.

All the carnival events will be held in the Municipal Theatre and will be free of charge, subject to the collection of an invitation. Invitations to the carnival events can be collected from the Municipal Theatre Box Office.

Friday 27th January

21:00 h. Carnival Proclamation by Omayra Cazorla. A video summary of last year's carnival will also be shown, as well as the twinning ceremony with the Carnival of Vinaroz.

Saturday 28th January

21:00 h. Coronation of the carnival queens. The children's queen is Edurne Vera and the main queen is Sara Fernandez. "La Malecha" (María Dolores Inglada Ruíz), co-founder of the comparsa Blanca de sal y morena de soles, will receive the golden shield of the Carnival.

Sunday 29th January

12:00 h. Carnival paella competition in La Punta neighbourhood (next to the Bar "Borneo").

Saturday 4th February

21:00 h. National Drag Queen Contest in the Municipal Theatre.

Sunday 5th February

12:00 h. Carnival Pet Parade in the Garden of Nations from 12:00h.

Friday 10th February

22:00 h. Carnival parade from the Plaza de la Constitución to the Plaza de Oriente from 22:00h.

Sunday 12th February

16:00 h. Grand Carnival Parade

Departure from Ramón Gallud Street at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre to Doctor Gregorio Marañon Avenue (next to the CEPSA petrol station), where a leisure area will be set up.

Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th February

Carnival parades and workshops in the city's schools.

Thursday 16th February

18:00 h. Carnival dance for the elderly at the Municipal Leisure Centre (CMO).

Friday 17th February

17:30 h. Children's Carnival Parade of the schools of Torrevieja "El carnaval de los coles". The parade will start at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre and will go to the Paseo Vista Alegre.

Saturday 18th February

18:00 h. Carnival night parade

Starting at 18:00 h. from the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre, Ramón Gallud street to the junction with Orihuela street.

Sunday 19th February

National Contest of Comparsas and Chirigotas in the Municipal Theatre.
