The Angel's Bull Festival is the most deeply rooted and one of the most anticipated celebrations in the city of Teruel. Additionally, it is dedicated to the Holy Guardian Angel, who is the patron saint of the city.

The origin dates back to the celebration of the conquest by Zaragoza knights of a Muslim fortress located where the city now stands, and they were guided by a brave bull.

The enduring form of celebration involves a roped bull. Bull festivities in the province of Teruel, like in many other places, have been deeply intertwined with the community since time immemorial. In this case, the practice of tethering bulls with a rope dates back to a time when the fighting bulls were transported for bullfighting and people in the streets would provoke them. At some point, it became a tradition for shepherds to loosen the ropes so that the bulls would come closer to the people, igniting the adrenaline in the crowd.

Throughout the four-day festivities, various associations and groups offer a program to ensure that no one forgets their experience at these celebrations, along with a hundred top-notch musical performances. And the best part? It's all free. What more could you ask for?
